
A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. Pronouns can be in one of three cases: Subject, Object, or Possessive.
Subject Pronouns - I, you, he, she, it, we, and they are used as the subject of a sentence:
1. I- is use if your referring to yourself.
Ex: I live in New York.
2. You- is use to refer to the person or people addressed.
Ex: Do you like playing tennis?
3. He- is use to refer to the man or boy previously mentioned.
Ex: He doesn't want to come this evening.
4. She- is use to refer to the woman or girl.
Ex: She works in London.
5. It- refers to a nonhuman, animal (which are not specified if girl or boy), plant, or inanimate thing.
Ex: Wow, it is so cute.
6. We- Used to refer to people in general, icluding yourself.
Ex: We are studying pronouns at the moment.
7. They- refers to people or things other than the speaker or people addressed.
Ex: They bought a new car last month.
Exercise: Replace the word inside the parenthesis with the appropriate subject pronouns.
1. My name is Anne. (Anne) _____ am an English teacher.
2. My mother's name is Angie. (Angie) _____ is from Germany.
3. Bob is my dad. (My dad) _____ is a waiter.
4. On the left you can see Simon. (Simon) _____ is my brother.

7. (Me, Simon, Angie and Bob) _____ live in Japan.
8. (Japan) _____ is not far from China.
9. My grandparents live in China. (My grandparents) _____ often come and see us.
