Democrats Predict Win for Barack Obama
Democrats Abroad (DA) Philippines for the last months has intensified its campaign to get American expatriates to register and make use of the program, "Vote from Abroad" releative to November 4 national elections. This effort compliments those many other countries where Democrats Abroad chapters are to be found. In the United States itself, the Democrats have been waging a massive campaign in all states to persuade citizens who are not registered or not inclined to vote to take part in the electoral process.
DA Philippines chairman Georgina McCauley is now in the US actively campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate barack Obama among citizens living in the rural areas, especially among those who have seldom voted in the past decades or who are not yet registered.
"I tell them what Senator Obama stands for and explain the important changes he and the Democratic Party will introduce to make America a better place to live in," McCauley told Expat shortly before she left for the US. Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and the Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review. He worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights lawyer before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004.
