June: Hi everybody! Nice meeting you. I am June.
Brian: Hello, June! I think this is our first time to have a session together.
June: You're right! This is my first time to have a session at the English Channel.
Ricky: Welcome to English Channel, June! My name is Ricky. Is it okay if I ask you something?
June: Sure, no problem! What is it?
Ricky: I would like to know if you have any hobbies. What are your hobbies, June?
June: Well... I am a couch potato.
Ricky: A couch potato? What do you mean by that?
Brian: If I may answer your question Ricky. Couch potato is someone who spends too much time watching TV.
Ricky: Oh, I see. Are you also a couch potato, Brian?
Brian: I don't watch too much TV. I do other things aside from staring at the television screen.
Special notes:
You can call a person a "couch potato" if that person makes watching TV a hobby. That person spends most of his time staring at the screen and watches all programs.
A person is not a couch potato if that person watches TV not too much. That person does other things. He is not contented just sitting in front of the television screen.
